S.O.P with oversized cargo
Special operating procedure with exporting oversized and project cargo are similar to S.O.P with auto/vehicle or boat shipment. The main deference in shipping of oversized cargo/project is that cost depends on weight and measure. That’s why in order to calculate the rate, client has to provide accurate dimensions.
You inform us regarding freight readiness (LCL/FCL), providing contact information for the shipper with purchase order number (invoice, packing list, dimensions), place of loading (in case of door move) or port of loading (in case of FOB).
We contact the shipper and double checking on readiness of the freight and dimension. In accordance with dimensions and capabilities of loading facilities and suppliers request we will choose appropriate type of trailer (RGN trailer, step deck, flat bed, step deck with ramps). Setting the appointment for a cargo pick up according to shipper’s schedule.
We can assist in acquiring and transporting oversized cargo from anywhere in the United States with accordance of weight limitations and oversized regulations. If cargo exceed allowable weight and size, permits are necessary.
In case if Ro-Ro shipments, after loading is complete, we deliver freight directly to the port terminal along with commercial documents (invoice, title in case of self-propelled machineries, cranes, etc.);
Port authorities will re-measure the freight and confirm final dimensions;
Title goes to customs for clearance;
After approval from customs for export, freight can be accepted on board.
Flat rack shipments:
In case of flat rack shipments, after loading at shippers facility, we deliver freight to our warehouse where it can be properly secure and brace by professionals.
After freight is properly secured and brace it can be return to port terminal, where it will be expected by surveyor terminal group in order to get accepted for loading.
